Three adults and two children are dead after an auto crash early Monday morning in Fort Worth, officials said.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight, when a black Camaro was speeding on the northbound frontage road of Interstate 35W, according to a statement from Fort Worth police. The Camaro rear-ended a sedan near Seminary Drive, killing the occupants of the sedan.
The driver of the Camaro suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital and then to jail, police said. The driver, 19-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez, was arrested and faces charges of five counts of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
A spokesperson for MedStar, a local ambulance service, said there were five fatalities from the accident — three adults and two children — and one patient with minor injuries. All five people died at the scene.
